Socio-Demographic Determinants of Genitourinary Prolapse

Background: Genitourinary prolapse is a common gynecological problem, especially in developing country. Causes and risk factors for uterine are complex deeply embedded the cultural, economic social conditions of women. Prevalence depression higher among women with advanced stages prolapse. Hence this study aimed to assess socio-demographic patients genitourinary Methods: A cross-sectional was conducted from January December, 2013 120 genital who attended at Gynae wards Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Shaheed Suhrawardy Mitford Hospital Dhaka. Women were admitted complaints protruding mass per vagina diagnosed as case assessed staged accordingly. semi-structured questionnaire used obtain data related by face interview. After collection, compiled, summarized, analyzed using SPSS software. Results: In study, out prolapsed patients, 31.7% 40-45 years age group, majority 79.2 % illiterate almost two third had no monthly income. Among all respondents, 64.2 more than four children, maximum 96.7% history home delivery, 91.7% heavy work during pregnancy or just after delivery. Conclusion: illiterate, multipara, insolvency, holistic management approach recommended having JOPSOM 2021; 40(2):26-31
